Description :(4)6-Chlorothymol is a fatty acid that has antimicrobial activity. It is used in biocides, such as anhydrous sodium thymol, and it has been shown to have toxicity studies in vitro. (4)6-Chlorothymol has been shown to have activity index of 0.32 and an antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria. In vivo studies show that this compound also inhibits the growth of cervical cancer cells in vitro.
