5-Chloro-2-methyl-3(2H)-isothiazolone with 2-methyl-3(2H)-isothiazolone is an antimicrobial agent that is used to inhibit the growth of bacteria. It is a combination of two compounds: 5-chloro-2-methyl-3(2H)-isothiazolone and 2-methyl-3(2H)-isothiazolone. The optimum concentration for this compound to inhibit the growth of bacteria is 0.5%. This product has shown to be active against a wide range of microbes, including E coli K 12, Salmonella typhimurium, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Streptococcus pyogenes.
