N-(2-Carboxycaproyl)hydrazobenzene is an anti-infective agent that is used to treat inflammatory bowel disease. It inhibits the effector proteins of proinflammatory cytokines, has a calcium binding and enzyme inhibitory activity, and is biocompatible with human serum. N-(2-Carboxycaproyl)hydrazobenzene is also effective against bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Salmonella enterica, and fungi such as Candida albicans. This drug can also be used to treat autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis or Crohn's disease. N-(2-Carboxycaproyl)hydrazobenzene can be administered orally or topically depending on the severity of the condition.
