Description

Coumarin 545 is a derivative of coumarin with an attached quinolizine group. The molecular structure of coumarin 545 consists of an aromatic hydrocarbon core with a skeleton, which is composed of fused six-membered rings. Coumarin 545 has been shown to be fluorescent in the near and far-red regions of the spectrum. It also emits light when excited by visible light or ultraviolet radiation. Coumarin 545 can be used as a probe for determining the spatial arrangement and orientation of molecules in crystals, polymers, and other materials that are transparent to visible light and ultraviolet radiation. Coumarin 545 is also used as a transistor material for thin film transistors that produce light emission due to changes in the electric field strength.
