Cyclopropyl 2-thienyl ketone also reacts with benzene to form dibenzofuran, which is an aromatic heterocycle. This reaction requires no catalyst and is catalyzed by nitrous oxide. Cyclopropyl 2-thienyl ketone has a spectrum of functional groups including methoxy, nitro, and nitrous.
