Copper(1+) Tetrafluoroborate is a synthetic, coordination compound of copper and fluorine with tetrafluoroborate. It has been used in structural studies of technetium and formamide. Copper(1+) Tetrafluoroborate can be formed by the reaction of copper with formamide and cyanide. This compound has a multinuclear structure that contains four copper atoms coordinated to two bidentate ligands. The complex transforms from anions to mononuclear ligands when it is heated or exposed to light.
