Description :N-Carbamoyl-2-Fluoro-beta-Alanine is an oral prodrug that is converted to the active form, N-carbamoyl-2,6-difluoro-beta-alanine (DFDFA), in vivo. It has shown efficacy against tumor cells in a model system and has been tested as a chemotherapeutic agent in vivo. The mechanism of action of DFDFA is not fully understood, but it may involve inhibition of protein synthesis and nucleic acid synthesis. DFDFA also has potential for use as a vaccine adjuvant for tularemia and maternal blood studies.
