Description :
4-Cyanophenyl trifluoromethanesulfonate is a versatile reagent that can be used in cross-coupling reactions to form amines. The mechanistic study of this compound has shown that it reacts with the substrate by nucleophilic attack at the carbonyl carbon, followed by bond cleavage to produce an aryl phosphite intermediate. This intermediate then undergoes an electrophilic substitution reaction with the bidentate ligand to form the desired product. 4-Cyanophenyl trifluoromethanesulfonate is also used for stereoselective arylations and alkene functionalizations.
