(2-Chloro-1,1,2-trifluoroethyl)diethylamine is a drug that inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators. The mechanism of action is not known, but it has been shown to have anti-inflammatory activity in laboratory animals. It may act by enhancing the elimination of reaction products or by inhibiting the formation of reaction products. It has also been found to enhance the effects of betamethasone dipropionate (BDP). The elimination reactions are alkaline hydrolysis and ring structure with dimethylformamide and dipropionate.
