Description

N-[3-(2-Chloro-4-fluorophenoxy)propyl]-N-methylpyrrolidin-2-one is a prodrug that is metabolized in vivo to its active form, 3-(2-chloro-4-fluorophenoxy)pyrrolidinium. This drug has been used in positron emission tomography (PET) studies of the human brain. It has also been shown to have an interaction with maoA and monoamine oxidase type A. The uptake of this drug is high, and it may be due to the high affinity for dopamine receptors. This drug has been shown to cross the blood brain barrier and bind to dopamine receptors in vitro, which may lead to its uptake by the brain.
