Description :
2-Methoxy-1-(2,4,6-trihydroxyphenyl)ethan-1-one is a carbonyl compound that belongs to the group of ketones. It is an intramolecular hydrogen bond acceptor and an intramolecular hydrogen donor. The geometry of the molecule is bent with a 180 degree angle between the C=O and C=C bonds. The benzene ring has two hydrogen atoms on opposite sides of the ring. This molecule is also a good nucleophile that can react with electron rich molecules to form carbon dioxide, water, alcohols, or carboxylic acid esters.
