It is soluble in hydrocarbon solvents and does not react with water, which makes it suitable for use as a polymerization agent. 1-Boc-4-chloroacetylpiperazine has an average particle diameter of about 0.2 microns and can be used to produce polyurethanes with desired properties such as high viscosity or low chloride content. The addition of magnesium and cocatalyst sulphoxides during polymerization leads to improved mechanical properties of the final product.
