Description

2,4-Dichloro-3-ethyl-6-nitrophenol is a chlorinating agent that is used to produce dichloroacetic acid and other compounds. It is an inexpensive chemical that can be synthesized from readily available starting materials. 2,4-Dichloro-3-ethyl-6-nitrophenol has been shown to have environmental effects such as the formation of nitrocompounds and the depletion of stratospheric ozone.
