Description

5,6-Dimethoxy-1-indanone is a chemical compound that has been studied for its inhibition of cytopathogenicity. It is most effective against the herpes virus and HIV because they contain a viral RNA polymerase that can be inhibited by 5,6-dimethoxy-1-indanone. The crystal structure of the compound has been determined using molecular modeling and X-ray diffraction studies.
