• Description: 2,6-Dimethyl-4-hydroxypyridine is an analog of hydrochloric acid. It is a coccidiostat that inhibits the proliferation of coccidia in the intestines of animals by reacting with and chlorinating organic acids in the intestine, which leads to coccidiosis. 2,6-Dimethyl-4-hydroxypyridine is also used as an intermediate for organic synthesis reactions and can be purified by ion exchange or activated charcoal adsorption. The purity of this compound is typically 99% or greater. Impurities are less than 0.1%.
