Description :
2,6-Dichloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)pyridine is a chemical compound that has cytotoxic properties. It is an analogue of the anticancer agent 2,4,5-trichloropyridine. The IC50 values for 2,6-Dichloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)pyridine are in the range of 0.1 to 1 μM, which makes it a potential anticancer agent. A cross-coupling reaction was used to synthesize this compound and other analogues with similar structures. In addition to its use as an anticancer agent, 2,6-Dichloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)pyridine has been shown to have potential use as a lead compound in the synthesis of alkaloids and pyridines.
