Description :Defensin HNP-2 is a peptide that has been shown to bind to cancer cells, metabolic disorders, and endometriosis. It also has pharmaceutical preparations for treating microbial infection and other diseases. Defensin HNP-2 is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial peptide and it binds to bacterial membranes in the cell cytoplasm. Defensin HNP-2 may be used as diagnostic agents or in the treatment of microbial infections. This antimicrobial peptide is stable when complexed with calcium ions and can be used against s. aureus strains that are resistant to antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin.
