Description

3,5-Dimethyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid is a neuroprotective agent that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. This compound inhibits the formation of amyloid plaques, which are protein aggregates found in Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. It has been shown to reduce the levels of polypeptides that form these plaques and also increases their clearance from the brain. 3,5-Dimethyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid is an inhibitor of respiratory syncytial virus replication and can be used for treatment of respiratory diseases. The molecule binds to metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluRs) on neurons and blocks receptor signaling pathways. It also prevents translation by binding to polyribosomes and inhibiting protein synthesis at a step before peptide bond formation.
