Dodecanohydrazide is a molecule with a linear, unsaturated aliphatic chain and an aldehyde group. It has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth in vitro by inhibiting the activity of inhibitor molecules that are involved in inflammatory diseases. Dodecanohydrazide has also been shown to inhibit the production of fatty acids and prostaglandins, which are molecules that cause inflammation. The mechanism of action for dodecanohydrazide is not yet known, but it may be due to its ability to inhibit hydroxyl groups and hydrogen bonding interactions, or its ability to form amides with quinoline derivatives.
