Description

4-(Diphenylmethylene)piperidine is a boron trifluoride etherate that is used as an anticancer agent. It inhibits the growth of cancer cells by binding to and inhibiting acetylcholine receptors on the surface of these cells. This binding prevents the normal release of acetylcholine, which is needed for nerve impulses to be transmitted. 4-(Diphenylmethylene)piperidine has also been shown to have antihistaminic properties in animal models. In addition, 4-(diphenylmethylene)piperidine has been shown to inhibit the growth of human lung cancer cells in vitro and in vivo models.
