Description :
2,5-Dioxopyrrolidin-1-yl)acetic acid is a molecule that belongs to the group of heterocyclic compounds. It is produced by the biosynthesis of crotonic acid. This compound has terminal residues in which the hydroxyl group is adjacent to an oxygen atom on a six member ring. 2,5-Dioxopyrrolidin-1-yl)acetic acid has been shown to be toxic in animal models and has a high toxicity profile. The toxicity of this compound may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis, but it also exhibits some anticancer activity.
