Description :
Di-n-butyl sulfoxide is a hydroxylated sulfoxide that can be extracted from petroleum. It is used as an extractant and in the synthesis of other compounds. Di-n-butyl sulfoxide has been shown to have a synergic effect when combined with hydrogen fluoride, radiation, or dibutyl hydrochloride. It also inhibits cationic polymerization and has been used as a biochemical probe for measuring light emission.
