2,4-Dichlorophenoxy)acetyl chloride (2,4-DPA) is a synthetic compound that inhibits the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis by inhibiting bacterial RNA synthesis. 2,4-DPA binds to the DOPA receptor in the striatal membranes and has been shown to have dopaminergic effects. 2,4-DPA also inhibits uptake of dopamine in striatal membranes and shows affinity for this site. This drug also has pharmacophore properties that include a chlorine group and an acetyl group.
