Description

Decanedihydrazide is an organic compound that contains a carboxylic acid functional group. It is a colorless liquid with a mild, sweet odor. Decanedihydrazide has been used as a sealant in the construction of roads and canals. The most common use of decanedihydrazide is as a pharmaceutical excipient or diluent for tablets and capsules. This compound is also used in the manufacture of cosmetics, such as nail polish remover, detergents, and perfumes. Decanedihydrazide reacts with light to form malonic acid, which is toxic to living cells. These effects are reduced by its inclusion in products that are not exposed to light or heat during storage.
