2,6-Dibromo-4-methylaniline is a pesticide that is used to control weeds and grasses. It has been shown to be effective in controlling weeds in turf, golf courses, and other areas. 2,6-Dibromo-4-methylaniline is a hydrolysis product of chlorate. This chemical also reacts with resveratrol to form a reaction product that may have the potential for use as an insecticide or herbicide. 2,6-Dibromo-4-methylaniline can react with toluidine to form a water soluble complex which could then be easily removed from the water by filtration. The best way to dispose of this chemical is through alkaline hydrolysis or weighing it into small pieces before disposing of it in a landfill.
