• Description: 1,3-Dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-5-ol is an organic solvent that has a variety of industrial applications. It is a colorless liquid with a strong odor and reacts with both acid and bases. The reaction of 1,3-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-5-ol with chlorine produces 3,5,6,-trichlorohexanone (chlorinated toluidine). This reaction may be used to synthesize other chlorinated toluidines. 1,3-Dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-5-ol has been shown to have synergistic effects when combined with nitrobenzene in the synthesis of juncoides.
