Description :
3,4-Dichlorophenylmethanol is a synthetic molecule that belongs to the class of phenols. It has been used as a preservative in cosmetics and other products. 3,4-Dichlorophenylmethanol has been shown to have antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria. This molecule also inhibits the metabotropic glutamate receptor (mGluR), which may be due to its ability to inhibit the biosynthesis of bacterial cell walls.
