Informations sur le produit
- Diethyl pyrimidin-2-ylmalonate
- Propanedioic Acid, 2-(2-Pyrimidinyl)-, Diethyl Ester
Diethyl 2-(pyrimidin-2-yl)malonate is an antibacterial agent that is used for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria. It is a sulfoxide with a malonate group, which has been shown to have antioxidant properties. Diethyl 2-(pyrimidin-2-yl)malonate inhibits bacterial growth in vitro assays and in vitro tests by binding to the terminal C4 atom of the carrageenan molecule. This binding prevents the formation of a hydrogen bond between the sulfoxide and chloride ions, which disrupts the ionic interactions between carrageenan, chloride, and folic acid. The malonate group has been found to bind to formamide and inhibit bacterial growth through its ability to inhibit protein synthesis.
