5,5-Dipropylpyrimidine-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-trione is a molecule that is used as a food additive. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in heart tissue. The optimum concentration for this compound is 0.02% (w/v) and it has been found to be effective at concentrations up to 0.1%. The protonation of 5,5-dipropylpyrimidine-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-trione depends on its pH value and it can be protonated by potassium ions or sodium ions.
