Informations sur le produit
2,4-Dichloro-6,7-dihydro-5H-cyclopenta[b]pyridine (2,4-DCPD) is a monoamine oxidase inhibitor that has been used as an antidepressant. It inhibits the enzyme monoamine oxidase type A (MAO A) and blocks the metabolism of serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine by MAO A. 2,4-DCPD also has affinity for 5HT1A receptors and can inhibit the synthesis of cocaine in the brain. 2,4-DCPD is structurally related to indoles such as tryptophan and phenylalanine. In addition to being an antidepressant, this drug has been found to be effective in treating Tourette syndrome and is a potential treatment for cocaine abuse.
