2,6-Dichloroquinoline is a chlorinated aromatic compound that reacts with amines to form quinoline derivatives. It can be synthesized by the reaction of 2,6-dichlorophenol with chloroacetyl chloride. 2,6-Dichloroquinoline is an organic solvent that has been used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and as a solvent for certain types of paints. The pharmacokinetic properties of 2,6-dichloroquinoline have been studied in vivo using rats. It is believed to be metabolized through the liver and excreted in urine via the kidneys.
