• Description: Acyl-CoA thiolase (ACOT) is a bacterial enzyme that catalyzes the reaction of fatty acyl-CoA with CoA to form CoA esters and free fatty acids. The ACOT gene has been identified as an important virulence factor in Staphylococcus aureus isolates.
