Description

Diisopropyltrisulfide is a colorless liquid that has a strong, garlic-like odor. It is used in the production of diallyl trisulfide, which is an organic compound that can be found in garlic and other allium vegetables. Diisopropyltrisulfide has been shown to have antimicrobial properties when reacting with light, making it an effective natural antibacterial agent. The product has been used as a chemical intermediate for the production of various compounds such as citratus and fragmentation assay reagent. Diallyl trisulfide also reacts with human food during cooking to produce methyl ethyl sulfides, which are responsible for the flavor and aroma of cooked food.
