1-(3,5-Dimethoxyphenyl)heptan-1-one is a chemical compound with a grignard reagent. Grignard reagents are strong nucleophiles that react with electrophilic groups in organic compounds. The 1-(3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)heptan-1-one is used as the target product in this reaction. This intermediate then reacts with another molecule of RMgX to form a new bond between two carbon atoms and one magnesium atom.
