Description

2-(Diethylamino)ethanethiol (DEET) is a cationic surfactant that has been used in human and veterinary medicine as an insect repellent. It is a widely used insect repellent, but it also has potential to cause toxicity in humans. The molecular weight of DEET is approximately 154 g/mol, which makes it a low-molecular-weight molecule. This product is not absorbed through the skin and has a redox potential of -0.33 V, making it suitable for use as a membrane system in analytical chemistry applications.
