Description :2,4-Dimethylbenzenethiol is a synthetic chemical compound that is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other compounds. This chemical has been shown to act as a serotonin reuptake inhibitor and x-ray absorption agent. It can be found in the form of a white solid with no odour. When heated, it melts at about 147 degrees Celsius and boils at about 248 degrees Celsius. 2,4-Dimethylbenzenethiol has been used in industry for the production of sulfamic acid and piperazine.
