1,8-Diazafluoran-9-one is a reaction intermediate that can be used to study the reaction mechanism of diazafluoran. It is a red fluorescent dye that has been shown to react with fatty acids and exudates. 1,8-Diazafluoran-9-one reacts with chloride ions from short-term exposure or long-term exposure to form an enhanced fluorescence. The photochemical properties of 1,8-diazafluoran are similar to those of mesenchymal stromal cells.
