Description :
2-Deoxyribonic acid is an intermediate metabolite that is formed during glycolysis and the Krebs cycle. It is used in wastewater treatment to remove chromatic and organic compounds from the water. 2-Deoxyribonic acid has been shown to be a potential biomarker for bladder cancer and may be useful in profiling patients with bladder cancer. This metabolite has also been used in trying to understand the relationship between diet and urinary acidification, as well as cell lysis.
