Description

Disperse Yellow 3 is a dye with a particle size of less than 10 microns. It is used in the textile industry and for the coloration of food products, drugs, cosmetics, and plastics. Disperse Yellow 3 has been shown to be genotoxic in vitro assays. It has also been shown to have chronic oral toxicity in rats. This yellow dye can cause allergic reactions when ingested or inhaled. Disperse Yellow 3 may be carcinogenic if it enters the environment as wastewater treatment effluent and is exposed to sunlight.
