Description

Azido-L-2,3-diaminopropionic acid hydrochloride is a synthetic amino acid that can be used in vitro to inhibit the growth of bacteria. It has been shown to have significant activity against certain bacterial strains, including typhimurium and subtilis. Azido-L-2,3-diaminopropionic acid hydrochloride inhibits the synthesis of protein by binding to l-amino acids and prevents the formation of peptide bonds between amino acids. This drug also interacts with DNA and may repair damaged DNA by replacing missing nucleotides. Azido-L-2,3-diaminopropionic acid hydrochloride is not mutagenic and does not produce mutations in vitro.
