Description :
Olmesartan is a medication for treating high blood pressure. It belongs to the class of angiotensin receptor antagonists (ARBs), which are used to block the action of angiotensin II, a chemical that narrows blood vessels and increases the volume of blood flowing through them. Olmesartan has been shown to be effective in reducing the frequency and severity of hypertensive crises (e.g., stroke or heart attack) in people with severe hypertension, who have not responded to other treatments. This drug also has been shown to reduce proteinuria, prevent kidney damage, and lower cholesterol levels.
