Description

C-Desmethyl metoprolol is a metabolite of metoprolol, which is a beta blocker. It has been shown to have an increased reaction rate and ionization detector response in comparison to its parent compound. The nature of the product is non-polar, so it can be used in silicone or supercritical fluid chromatography. The kinetic of the product has been observed to be slower than that of metoprolol. This product also has a tailing effect, which may result from the presence of methylphenyl groups on the molecule.
