Diclazuril is a veterinary drug that is used to control coccidiosis in pigs and poultry. It is available as a feed additive, and can be administered by mixing the product with the animal's food or water. Diclazuril has minimal toxicity in mammals, and can be used for wastewater treatment. The biochemical composition of this drug includes antioxidant vitamins, sodium salts, colloidal gold, glycol ether, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), genotoxic activity, and toxicological studies. Diclazuril has been shown to cause liver lesions in rats when given at high doses over a long period of time. However, this drug does not have any genotoxic or carcinogenic effects at lower doses.
