• Description: 1,3-Dipropyl-8-p-sulfophenylxanthine (PPX) is a drug that has been shown to have a protective effect against infectious diseases. It inhibits the adenosine A receptor and blocks the synthesis of cyclic AMP. PPX also has an inhibitory effect on the synthesis of cyclic GMP in the brain, which may be involved in its effects on locomotor activity.
