Description :4,4'-Dithiobisbenzoic acid is an organic compound that has been shown to be effective against Candida neoformans, a pathogen of humans. It has also been shown to be stable in the presence of both hydrochloric acid and diazonium salt. This chemical is used as a reagent for the determination of hydroxyl ions and activation energies. 4,4'-Dithiobisbenzoic acid has also been reported to inhibit protein synthesis by glycosylated proteins in the erythrocytes of rats. In addition, it inhibits environmental pollution by acting as an antioxidant and an inhibitor of lipid peroxidation. This chemical also has high resistance against many organisms and can act as a fungicide or bactericide.
