Rac trans-10,11-Dihydro-10,11-dihydroxy carbamazepine is a metabolite of the anticonvulsant drug carbamazepine. Rac trans-10,11-Dihydro-10,11-dihydroxy carbamazepine has been detected in human samples and its concentration appears to be proportional to the dose of carbamazepine administered. It is thought that rac trans-10,11-Dihydro-10,11-dihydroxy carbamazepine is formed by CYP2C19 enzyme in the liver and then excreted into the bile.
