Description :
4,5-Dibromo-o-xylene is used in the synthesis of organometallic compounds. It is a processable chemical that has been shown to have a red shift in the photophysical spectrum when compared to other substituted benzene derivatives. The presence of phenyl substituents on 4,5-dibromo-o-xylene can lead to elimination reactions with diphosphine or other electrophiles. 4,5-Dibromo-o-xylene can be analyzed by NMR spectroscopy and has been shown to have an analytical method for determining its purity.
