Dimethylphenylsilylchloride is an analytical reagent that is used for the determination of p-hydroxybenzoic acid in various types of samples. It reacts with p-hydroxybenzoic acid to form a methyl ester, which can be detected by UV spectrophotometry and quantified using a calibration curve.
