Diethyl xanthogen disulphide is a reagent used to measure the redox potential of a solution. It can be used to determine the optimum concentration for an enzyme activity, such as in the case of glucose oxidase, which is important for diabetes treatment. The kinetic data for this enzyme are obtained using flotation, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and fluorescein angiography. Using surface methodology and thermodynamic data, adsorption of xanthate on pyrite was studied with CD-1 mice. These measurements provide information about the redox potentials and other properties of solutions that may not be accessible by other means.
