Description :
Dimethyl succinate is a solid catalyst that is used for wastewater treatment in the chemical industry. It is a byproduct of dimethyl fumarate, which is an intermediate in the production of citric acid. Dimethyl succinate can be produced by reacting molybdenum with citric acid or succinic acid. This reaction involves the elimination of water and formation of hydrogen gas, making this process exothermic. Dimethyl succinate has been shown to have DNA binding activity, as well as anti-inflammatory effects and inhibition of tumor growth when combined with benzalkonium chloride.
